Week 4

ReIntroduction:

 

By now, you may already have an idea of some of the foods that don't “agree" with your body. It’s time to begin

thinking about what you are going to do Post 30-days, as you begin to RE-introduce the foods you've eliminated. If

you truly want to benefit from all of the HARD WORK you’ve put into this detox that you re-introduce each food

we’ve eliminated ONE AT A TIME for at least 3 days EACH (That is if you even WANT to eat them again!). What

does this look like? This would mean keeping the detox meals going and adding in ONLY peanuts for 3 days. The

next 3 days ONLY coffee. The next 3 ONLY dairy, etc, etc. With WHEAT (gluten) being the last thing you REintro-

duce. This is CRUCIAL as gluten can be the very destructive to the GI if you have a sensitivity to it and to reintro-

duce it first may cause you to not notice other sensitivities or allergies.

Re-introducing the avoid list one-by-one will quickly show you which food(s) you may be allergic or intolerant to.

Make NOTE of how the food makes you feel and if anything happens to your weight with each food (1-3 lb weight

gains over the 3- day re-introduction phase is a sign of intolerance). While some people do not continue this pro-

gram to a "T"...many people DO choose to follow what we call the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time, follow the LIFE-

STYLE you've learned here. 20% of the time, allow yourself a little "cheat". I’ve found now that I KNOW which foods

don't serve me... and that the cheat isn’t usually worth the consequence!

 

While we DO recommend you ‘test’ the waters to discover your PERSONAL food triggers, that does not mean we advocate the consumption of these foods in your regular diet moving forward. Again, most people choose to adopt an 80/20 lifestyle and for most, that works beautifully! This re-integration phase will allow you to “FIND” your 20%. View this phase as a ‘test’ period and see yourself on a mission to READ YOUR OWN BODY and discover which foods don’t serve YOU, personally. Once you identify them, the smart thing to do is make peace with the fact that

“x” does not agree with YOU and for the love of yourself, LET IT GO! (Nothing tastes better than healthy FEELS). Find your substitutions, make your modifications and vow to LIVE life to the FULL, because you now KNOW how to best fuel YOUR body.
